• Chu Lai area, Quang Nam (~2h 30m from Quy Nhon): The expressway passes through Quang Nam province here. The coastline opens up, the terrain flattens, and you start to feel the transition from central highlands to the Da Nang basin.
• Hoi An (Quang Nam) — ~30 min before Da Nang: If you want to visit Hoi An Ancient Town on the same trip, the expressway passes very close. We can drop off in Hoi An first and arrange an onward transfer to Da Nang later, or vice versa. Mention it at booking.
• Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son), Da Nang: 10 km south of Da Nang city center, right off the CT01 approach. Buddhist caves and sanctuaries inside five limestone hills. If your hotel is on the south side of Da Nang, this is a natural first stop before checking in — takes about 90 minutes to do properly.

When to make this trip

February to August is the dry season for Da Nang — the sea is clear, the beaches are open, and the expressway runs smoothly in good weather. September to January is typhoon and rain season for this stretch of coastline. The road stays driveable but Da Nang gets proper rain. If you are traveling in this window, departing in the morning before afternoon showers is always the better call.

Quy Nhon and Da Nang are in different micro-climate zones — Quy Nhon can be dry when Da Nang is wet, and vice versa. This route crosses that weather boundary, which is part of what makes the drive interesting.

Where to go once you are in Da Nang

• My Khe Beach: The main city beach — 30 km of sand running along the eastern edge of the city. Clean, patrolled, and good for swimming most of the year. Most of the large beach hotels sit here.
• Son Tra Peninsula (Linh Ung Pagoda): The large white Lady Buddha statue visible from much of the city coastline. The road up through the forest is worth doing for the view even if you skip the pagoda itself.
• Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son): Five limestone hills 10 km south of the city center, riddled with Buddhist sanctuaries and caves. Takes 2 hours to do properly. On the way to Hoi An if you are continuing south.
• Han River Bridge and Dragon Bridge: The Dragon Bridge breathes fire on Saturday and Sunday nights at 9 PM. If your timing works out, it is genuinely worth seeing.
