Da Nang to Bach Ma National Park by Private Car
The question every traveler asks before booking a car to Bach Ma is simple. Will the car take you to the top of the mountain, or leave you at the gate? Our car takes you to the park gate. The park shuttle takes you to the summit, and the rest of the day runs on the park clock, not on a guess. The drive from Da Nang to the park gate covers about 65 to 70 km and takes 2 to 2.5 hours. You leave Da Nang in the morning, walk the summit trails during the day, and return to Da Nang in the evening.
Mui Ne Private Car is a private transport company with more than 8 years of experience on routes across Vietnam. We run this trip with our own cars and local drivers. Message us on WhatsApp at +84 976 694 384 and we confirm your fixed price before you travel.

Every Way from Da Nang to Bach Ma, Compared
Three ways reach the mountain. Every one of them still needs the park shuttle up the mountain, and no car price below includes the shuttle.
| Way | Time | Price | Note |
| Private car | 2 to 2.5 hours to the gate, plus the shuttle | From $98 per car, one way | Your own schedule, door to door |
| Group day tour | 9 to 10 hours, fixed day | About $45 to $89 per person | Guide, entrance and lunch often included, shared with up to 15 travelers |
A third way exists on paper. No direct public bus runs to the park gate. Buses on Highway 1 toward Hue drop at Cau Hai, about 3 km from the gate, and the last leg needs a taxi, with no fixed timetable to the gate and no fixed fare to quote.
The verdict is simple. The private car owns the clock and the pace: you leave when you want, stop where you agree, and walk the trails at your own speed. The group tour is the honest exception for a solo traveler on a tight budget, because the per-person price beats a whole car. The bus and taxi combination saves money in theory and costs certainty in practice.
How the Day Runs
Morning Pickup in Da Nang
Your driver picks you up at your hotel or at Da Nang Airport in the morning. The drive runs north past Hai Van Pass and Lang Co. Photo stops at the pass and the lagoon are possible when agreed at booking, at no extra charge. Your driver chooses the best route on the day, based on traffic and road conditions.
The Drive to the Park Gate
The drive to the park gate covers about 65 to 70 km and takes 2 to 2.5 hours in real conditions. At the gate you buy your entrance ticket, about 60,000 VND per person, and board the park shuttle. The shuttle runs from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and costs roughly 750,000 to 1,200,000 VND per vehicle for a round trip, depending on your group size.
The Summit Day, and the Drive Back
The shuttle climbs to the summit area, where the day belongs to your feet: Hai Vong Dai viewpoint, the Five Lakes trail, and Do Quyen Waterfall. The shuttle brings you back down to the gate before the park closes at 5:00 PM, and the car you booked for the return leg takes you back to Da Nang.
Five Questions Before You Book
Can we fit the summit, the Five Lakes, and Do Quyen Waterfall into one day?
Yes. That combination is the standard Bach Ma day. The shuttle reaches the summit area in the morning, and the day runs from Hai Vong Dai viewpoint to the Five Lakes trail and then to Do Quyen Waterfall, with the shuttle down before the park closes at 5:00 PM. It is a full day of walking, about 8 to 10 km of trails in total, so wear hiking shoes and carry water.
Can we visit Bach Ma on our Da Nang to Hue drive?
Yes, with one honest limit. The park sits between the two cities, so the car can stop at the gate on the way to Hue. A stop gives you a few hours on the mountain, not the full summit day. For the full Five Lakes and waterfall day, come as a day trip from Da Nang instead.
Bach Ma is famous for fog. Will we see anything from the summit?
Often yes, and the fog is part of the point. Bach Ma is the wettest mountain in Vietnam, and the sea of clouds is what travelers come for. Mornings give the clearest summit views, and the weather can change several times in one day, from fog to sun to rain and back. Even on a cloudy summit day, the Five Lakes and the waterfall sit below the cloud and are still worth the walk.
Do we need the park's shuttle if we already have a private car?
Yes. Your private car drops you at the park gate and goes no further. Only the park shuttle drives the summit road, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, for roughly 750,000 to 1,200,000 VND per vehicle for a round trip. Book the shuttle at the gate when you arrive, and plan your descent so you reach the gate before the park closes at 5:00 PM.
We want to see the Five Lakes. Can we reach them without the full trek?
The lakes are reached on foot only, and there is no road to them. The walk can be shortened: visit the nearest lakes and turn back instead of continuing to Do Quyen Waterfall. The paths are forest paths with stream crossings, so closed hiking shoes and mosquito repellent belong in your bag either way.
From Da Nang Airport Straight to Bach Ma
A morning landing can still become a mountain day. The airport pickup runs as a straight flow.
Land in the morning, leave straight away. Book the car for your landing time and flight number, and your driver is ready when you land.
We watch the flight while you fly. If your flight is delayed or lands early, the pickup moves with it.
Look for your name at the arrivals exit. Your driver waits there with a name board. If you cannot find your driver, message us on WhatsApp and we connect you at once.
Drive straight to the park gate. From the airport the car heads for the gate, with the shuttle hours and the 5:00 PM park closing already in the plan.
What Waits in Bach Ma
Three places make the day. Below are what each one is and how much time to give it.
Hai Vong Dai Viewpoint, 1,450 m
Hai Vong Dai is the summit viewpoint, 1,450 m above sea level. The view runs across Lang Co Bay, Hai Van Pass, Truoi Lake, Cau Hai Lagoon, Chan May Port and the open sea. Mornings give the clearest views, before the cloud builds. Plan about half an hour at the viewpoint, longer if the sea of clouds is rolling in.
Five Lakes (Ngu Ho)
Five Lakes is a chain of five clear natural pools in the forest, reached on foot from the summit area. Swimming is possible in good weather, and the fifth lake is the usual swimming and lunch stop. The paths are forest paths with stream crossings, so closed shoes, mosquito repellent and a change of clothes belong in your bag. There are no changing rooms at the lakes, so plan for that before you swim. Allow a couple of hours for the lakes.
Do Quyen Waterfall, About 300 m
Do Quyen Waterfall drops about 300 m through the jungle, and the way to its foot runs down more than 600 steps. The descent is the hard part, and the climb back up is harder, so save energy for the return. Allow at least an hour for the descent and the climb back. The waterfall is the far end of the day, so visit it before you start thinking about the shuttle down.
When to Go
Bach Ma is wet all year, and that is part of its character. The driest months run roughly December to April, when the summit views are most likely to open. September to December brings the heaviest rain, and trails can close after heavy rain, so a rainy-season trip needs a flexible plan. Fog can roll in during any month, which is why the morning start matters more than the month you pick.
What to Bring
Bach Ma is a walking day, so pack for trails, not for the car. Closed hiking shoes matter most: the paths are forest paths with stream crossings, and Do Quyen Waterfall alone means more than 600 steps down and back up. Carry 1.5 to 2 litres of water per person, and mosquito repellent with long socks for leech protection on the forest trails. If you plan to swim in the Five Lakes, bring swimwear and a change of clothes, because there are no changing rooms at the lakes. A light rain poncho belongs in the bag too: the weather on the wettest mountain in Vietnam can change several times in one day.
One Day Is Enough
Bach Ma is a day trip, not a multi-day destination. Leave Da Nang early in the morning, spend the day on the mountain, and return to Da Nang in the evening, with the return leg added at booking. The park closes at 5:00 PM, so the day runs from morning to late afternoon, and nothing about the trip needs a night away. Travelers who want a slower pace should say so at booking, so the pickup and return times are planned around a shorter walk.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we visit Bach Ma from Hue instead of Da Nang?
Yes. Hue is closer to the park, about 40 km away, and we also run a Hue to Bach Ma service. The day works the same way: car to the gate, park shuttle to the summit, and back before the park closes at 5:00 PM.
Can we swim in the Five Lakes?
Yes, in good weather. The fifth lake is the usual swimming stop. Avoid the water after heavy rain, and bring swimwear and a change of clothes, because there are no changing rooms at the lakes.
The park closes at 5 PM. What is the latest we can start heading down?
Shuttle service ends at 4:00 PM and the park closes at 5:00 PM, so start down in time to reach the gate before closing. On a normal day trip you are off the mountain in the late afternoon, well before closing.
Do we need to pay a deposit to book?
No. No deposit is needed. Pay on arrival, or pay in advance if you prefer.
We have big suitcases. Is there space to leave them in the car while we trek?
Yes. Your luggage stays in the car at the gate while you walk the trails, and it is there when you come back down.
